A family from Madawaska welcomed a baby boy on December 28 and this baby represented the 200th delivery at Cary Medical Center for 2023.
A cold front will approach today and cross the region tomorrow with increasing chances for snow showers tonight and a chance for snow showers over the course of the day Thursday.

New general store — Carl Soderberg of New Sweden was in town Wednesday. Mr Soderberg has, in company with one of his sons, opened a new general store in New Sweden.

Christmas mail in the local office set a new record — The volume of both incoming and outgoing Christmas mail at the Presque Isle Post Office broke all records, Postmaster Orrin J. Bishop announced.

Donald Mitchell Takes Course At Police Academy– Donald E. Mitchell of the Houlton Police Department has completed a three-day crime scene search school at the Maine Criminal Justice Academy in Waterville.
Presque Isle artist Melanie Sipe Reese will exhibit her creative work at the Aroostook Agency on Aging during the First Friday Art Walk on January 5 from 4:30-7 p.m. in the Artists for Aging gallery at 260 Main Street.
