HOULTON & CARIBOU – Elizabeth Louise Morris, 57, died January 7, 2014, at her beloved farm surrounded by her family and closest friends. She was born December 18, 1956, in Presque Isle, the daughter of Dr. Roy and Judith (Holt) Boone.
Liz graduated from Caribou High School and the University of Maine with a degree in Nursing. She worked at Cary Medical Center’s Emergency Department, Visiting Nurses of Aroostook and at the Houlton Regional Hospital Emergency Department. Liz took pride in her work as a nurse and was known as a wise and compassionate caregiver. She touched many lives and she will be missed.
She lived her life with vigor and adventure and enjoyed traveling, sailing, walking and skiing. She had a great passion for her horses, her dogs and rescue animals. She immensely enjoyed spending time with her family and always loved them, fed them with delicious food and covered them with her beautiful hand-made quilts. She had a fabulous sense of humor and was always one to make a person smile with her razor sharp wit. Liz will be remembered for her steadfast loyalty to those she loved and her enthusiasm for new adventures. Liz loved all critters, but especially small barking dogs and horses. She was an avid horsewoman all of her life. She and her husband, Al, spent many wonderful times on their sailboat as well.
Liz is survived by her husband, Alan Morris of Houlton; two sons, Daniel Coville and Eric Morris; two daughters, Catherine Boone-Mattila and her husband, James, and Moriah Morris-Dietrich and her husband, Semjon; her granddaughter, Delilah Palm, and her grandson, Nolan Mattila; her brother, John Boone and his wife, Elizabeth; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
