Calling all children in the Greater Houlton area. On Saturday, Dec. 20 any parent, grandparent or friend may bring children to the Chester L. Briggs American Legion at 184 Bangor Street to do their Christmas shopping.
The American Legion Auxiliary Unit 47 and the Junior members will be hosting this shopping extravaganza just for children. The legion will be open from 9 a.m. until noon. To buy gifts children need to bring in pennies as their donation. There will be items to buy for mom and dad and Santa’s elves will wrap the gift to keep it a surprise for the parents.
The auxiliary has held this event for the past several years in an effort to help children celebrate the Christmas season and have their own surprise for their moms and dads.
The pennies collected that day will be donated to a local charity.
