FORT KENT, Maine – Fort Kent’s Ethan Daigle brought his shooting game Monday and it took every last bucket to propel the Warrior boys to a 73-70 win over Wisdom in double overtime.

The win was good enough to improve Fort Kent to 6-1 on the season and the top position in the Class C North rankings. Wisdom moved to the seventh seed in Class D with a record of 2-4.

The Fort Kent offense was corked up for most of the first quarter until Keegan Cyr broke it loose with a momentum changing 3-pointer at the 2:30 mark. The remaining three quarters of regulation proved to be a volley of the lead between the neighboring Valley teams.

The Pioneers were favored by two points on the scoreboard with just under six seconds remaining in the fourth quarter when Daigle pulled out a clutch field goal on a pass from Tobias Naranja to tie things up and send the game into overtime.

Wisdom’s Camden Pelletier exercised similar excellence under pressure when he rushed the court and nailed a 3-pointer with just seconds left in the first overtime to tie things at 65-65.

It was Daigle who sealed the game’s fate when he pulled the Warriors ahead once again and for the final time with just over a minute left in double overtime

Daigle poured in 42 points to lead all players, including three from behind the 3-point arc. Keegan Cyr registered 12 points including a three. Lance Gagnon added eight more for the Warriors.

Dominic Gendreau led the Pioneers with 21, including three 3-pointers. Kaden Daigle contributed 19 points. Camden Pelletier’s 15 points included a pair of 3-pointers.
