Aroostook Retired Educator Association announces summer meetings

At the April 26 meeting of the AREA board, the dates and locations of the summer meetings were finalized. The first meeting will be held June 21 at the Southern Aroostook Agricultural Museum in Littleton.

A home cooked meal with homemade desserts will be served. Tammy Delong of the Senior Planning Center, Inc. will be guest speaker.

The July 26 meeting will be held at the new Caribou Community School. A tour of the school with luncheon in the new cafeteria will be featured. The Aug. 23 meeting will be held at Nadeau Hall on the UMFK campus. Guest speaker will be John Kosinski. A buffet luncheon will be served.

The Sept. 27 meeting will be held at the new Rusty Crab Restaurant in Mars Hill. The menu will include choices to be announced. The Remembrance program will be observed, and Jim Stepp of Job Corp will speak about the new observatory at the Francis Malcolm Science Center in Easton.  

Luncheon registration begins at 11 a.m. with the meal served at noon. The cost will be $18 per meal.
