Fr. Labrie’s 40th ordination anniversary Mass and dinner set for May 23

FORT KENT, Maine – St. John Vianney Parish invites all to commemorate the 40th ordination anniversary for Fr. Jean-Paul Labrie, pastor of the parish, on Monday, May 23.

 An anniversary Mass will begin at 4 p.m. at St. Louis Church on 26 East Main Street in Fort Kent. Following the Mass, a 6 p.m. anniversary dinner will be held at the Fort Kent Knights of Columbus Hall on 372 Frenchville Road. The dinner menu will include roast beef, baked stuffed haddock, vegetables, salad, dessert, and beverages. To reserve a seat or seats at the dinner, call the parish at 207-834-5656.

 Fr. Labrie was ordained to the priesthood by Bishop Amédée W. Proulx on May 23, 1982, at St. Luce Church in Frenchville. Since his ordination, he has served at churches in Caribou, Presque Isle, Portage, Washburn, Fort Fairfield, Mars Hill, Limestone, Ashland, Stockholm, Lewiston, Biddeford, Daigle, Hamden, Winterport, Fort Kent, Eagle Lake, St. Francis, and Wallagrass.
