CARIBOU, Maine — Cary Medical Center will host drive-thru flu vaccine clinics during the first two weeks in October.
The hospital implemented the strategy of a drive-thru format last year, which proved hugely successful, so they have opted for the same plan this year as a way to help protect members of community from COVID-19 and give them the immunity protection they need for the flu.
The clinics will be from 4 to 6:30 at the following locations.
Washburn: Tuesday, Oct. 5, at Washburn High School.
Van Buren: Wednesday, Oct. 6, at the Van Buren District School.
Fort Fairfield: Thursday, Oct. 7, at the Fort Fairfield Fire Department.
Limestone: Tuesday, Oct. 12, at Limestone Community School.
Caribou: Thursday, Oct. 14, at Caribou High School.
People planning to attend one of the clinics should wear a mask, follow traffic directions carefully, wear loose clothing to show the upper arm and be ready to fill out the consent form. All are invited to stay for a snack.
Anyone who has a fever or is feeling ill should not attend a clinic.
The clinics are open to the general public. Children under 9 years of age are
encouraged to receive their flu shots at school or from their providers.
