AREA to survey members

CARIBOU, Maine — The Aroostook Retired Educators Association board met Tuesday, March 16, at the Caribou Inn and Convention Center.

Following the flag salute, invocation and reports by officers and committee chairs, the main topic of discussion was the summer meetings. A survey will be sent to AREA members who attended meetings in 2019 to ascertain how many meetings each member would attend and the locations of their choices.

All locations would have to meet the protocols for the date of the meeting, since the protocols are expected to vary with the status of the COVID-19 virus rate at that time.

Thanks to Betsy York for creating a new AREA Facebook page. Check it out for updates on the survey and to see information from fellow members of AREA.

The group was pleased to learn that Rena Kearney was honored by the Presque Isle Rotary Club with a Community Service Hero Award. It was noted that “She does what seems like everything to everyone.”
