Caribou boys victorious over Fort Kent

CARIBOU, Maine — The top-seeded Caribou Viking boys basketball secured a 78-43 victory over No. 8 Fort Kent Thursday in a Class B/C quarterfinal.

With the win, Caribou advances to the semifinals where the Vikings face No. 4 Presque Isle (7-6). If Caribou is successful in that game, the Vikings would host the divisional championship Tuesday.

Caribou (12-0 overall) secured a strong lead over Fort Kent throughout the game, ending the first quarter with a 19 point lead (26-7). The Vikings lead continued as the first half ended with Caribou on top 38-14. 

After three quarters of play, the Viking lead grew to 61-26.

For Caribou, Sawyer Deprey scored a total of 35 points, Caleb Espling scored 16, and Avery Thibodeau scored 10. 

Top scorers for Fort Kent (2-5 overall) were Ethan Daigle with 23 points and Austin Delisle with 13 points.
