United Way of Aroostook postpones Northern Star event due to COVID-19 concerns

PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — This weekend’s Northern Star singing events slated for Fort Kent, Presque Isle and Houlton have been postponed due to new concerns about the coronavirus.

 

“United Way of Aroostook’s Board of Directors has made the decision to postpone the Northern Star events due to the COVID-19 virus concerns and our commitment to the health of our community as a whole,” said Athena Hallowell, program and volunteer coordinator for the United Way of Aroostook.

The Fort Kent show, originally planned for Friday, March 13, at the Fox Auditorium is being rescheduled to May 1, pending approval from the school.

Presque Isle’s show, originally slated for Saturday, March 14, has been moved to 7 p.m. Saturday, May 2, at Presque Isle Middle School.

The Houlton show, originally scheduled for Sunday, March 15, has been rescheduled to 2 p.m. Sunday, May 3, at the Houlton Community Arts Center at Houlton Middle-High School.

The finale has been rescheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday, May 24, at the Caribou Performing Arts Center.
