AROOSTOOK COUNTY, Maine — The little bit of rain that we are experiencing will help with what were becoming very dusty conditions.  Saturday should be a nice day to get out and ride.

Beaver activity is becoming an issue as well, so if you see any fresh activity you can contact either club trail masters or reach out to Gary Marquis and he will make sure that the information gets to the proper people.

TRAIL INFORMATION:

Knowles Corner ATV Club:  Trails are in fair to good shape.

Pine Runners ATV Club (Van Buren):  Trails are open and in good shape. Gro Ben trail (637) is permanently closed.  Smith Trail Riverview Drive is closed for logging until further notice, this is trail 637C.

Big 13 ATV Club (Mars Hill):  Trails in good shape.

Madawaska ATV Club:  Trails are in good shape, ride safe.

Frenchville ATV Club:  Frenchville trails are in good condition. There will be yet another change to our ATV trails and our access trails in Star Barn Avenue and Airport Avenue. As we complete the changes to the trails our Facebook site will be updated as well as the information submitted to the Caribou Parks & Rec. Dept. If you have any questions regarding the Frenchville Trail System feel free to contact me at 543-6048, 436-0953 or by email at peperebj@twc.com. You can also message me on Facebook Messenger on the Frenchville ATV Club page. Thanks, Bob Marquis – President Frenchville ATV Club. Direction & Information signs have been posted. Please stay on marked trails.

Fort Kent ATV Club: Trails are drying up quite well in the greater Fort Kent area. Glendale to Violette Settlement Road still closed till further notice. Use Violette Settlement Road to access trail to Carter Brook.  Soldier Pond-Charette Hill area closed till further notice. Valley ATV Riders are working on it; stay tuned.

Allagash ATV Riders:  Trails are in good shape.

Easton ATV Club:  Trails are open. The bridge that they have been working on will not be completed until next week.  Looking for volunteers for bridge work, starting at 9 a.m.

Caribou ATV trails:  All trails are open. Note to users: Please make proper arrangements when travelling towards Limestone as the bridge that goes over Madawaska stream is not wide.  If your side by side is over 50 inches you will not make it across. We are working on an alternate route; please be patient. Note of caution: Limestone connector trail and Guerrette Bouchard trail are missing some signage.  Remember the trail ends at the Dubay Pit Road on the Guerrette Bouchard trail. There are still soft spots on the section, so please go slow in these areas.

Sinclair ATV Club:  All trails are open.  All signs have been installed.  Attention Sinclair area ATV enthusiasts: As many of you know, we have been trying to develop ATV trail access to Long Lake Sporting Club for many years. After years of hard work from many folks, both local and long-distance, we are happy to report that ATV access opened June 1 to the Long Lake Sporting Club. However, this will not be via the well-known snowmobile trail route. ATV access will be along Rt. 162 on the pavement. YES, ride the road. We have been given specific instruction to advise all riders, you must ride on the road, going with the flow of traffic, at the posted road speed limit. DO NOT ride the ditch, or along any landowner’s property. This section will be monitored regularly beginning tomorrow. The section of road is heavily marked with signage. Please ride safe.

Aroostook River ATV Club (New Sweden, Stockholm and Westmanland):  People will find a detour around logging area where Stan’s Road meets Sullivan Road.  The detour takes them onto Sullivan Road and turns onto Coulombe Road.   It should be all signed, but people need to be cautious if logging equipment is being used at the time.

North Ridge Runners ATV Club:  Trails are in good shape.

Masardis ATV Club:  Trails are open. At Scopan Dam a lot of caution signs will be up.  Please use caution. Trail ends at Route 11 going towards Oxbow.

Star City ATV Club (Presque Isle):  Trails are in good shape. Trail 101 has been rerouted around Parsons Street.

Island Falls Free Wheelers ATV Club:  Trails are in good shape. They have one trail closure — the Warren Falls trail has a tree down.

Aroostook Riders ATV Club (Houlton):  Trails will be all open for the weekend.  Please keep in mind that there are areas that need repairs.   Please resist the urge to drive hard in the soft areas.

Portage ATV Club:  Still muddy, culverts are washed.  East of Rt. 11 are closed and West of 11 are open.  No connection to Eagle Lake now.

Fort Frontier ATC Club (Fort Fairfield):  Fort Fairfield’s trails are good to go, except for one mud hole out towards Munson Pond.  Please tread lightly through there until it dries up.  We’ll be working on connecting to Caribou and Limestone for the next few weeks.

Patten ATV Club:  Trails are in good shape. Fixing washouts on the hanger trail; should be open on Monday.  Pickett Mountain trail is passable to get to Shin Pond.

St. Agatha ATV Club:  Trails are in great shape.

Washburn ATV Club:  All trails are open.  They have been out grading and doing light maintenance work.

Grand Isle ATV Club:  Trails will open Saturday.  Trail 218 from Madawaska line to the Cold Mountain Snowmobile Club is open and is still muddy in places. Please proceed with caution.

Sly Brook Trail blazers ATV Club:  Trails are in good shape.

Borderline ATV Club (Caswell):  A few muddy areas, Irving RD and entrance on Rt. 89, the Grass farm. Use caution that area is in the process of being planted. Stay on designated marked trail. Ride safe and respect the landowner’s property.

Ashland ATV Club:  Trails are in good shape and all marked.  Drying up nicely.

Eagle Lake ATV Club:  Trails are in good shape.

Please keep an eye out on the County’s Facebook pages for the latest updates on trail conditions.
