Police searching for two people allegedly tied to theft case

CARIBOU, Maine — The Caribou Police Department released closed circuit video from a local business on Facebook earlier last week, asking the public to help identify a woman caught on camera.

Laura Adams, administrative assistant with the department, said police are searching for the woman as well as a man who sometimes accompanies her for “questioning regarding a complaint we received.”

Adams said police are unable to say specifically what store the video comes from, as it would reveal the name of the victim of a possible crime, which is against department policy.

At this point, police can only reveal that the woman in the video may be part of a team, and that their search is related to a case regarding multiple instances of theft.

As of Monday, Jan. 28, the search for the two individuals is still ongoing.

The department urges anyone able to identify the individual, or who sees suspicious listings on social media or some online website for “any brand-new Craftsman or DeWalt power tools for sale, still in the box,” to notify the Caribou Police Department by calling 493-3301.
