Jackson stands up for parents

To the editor: Three years ago, all the children living in Cross Lake and attending school in Fort Kent, like mine, were informed that they had to attend a different school district. We were told it was due to a busing issue.

Paradis will work for important issues

To the editor: The car coming in our driveway had a license plate with Fizzit on it. Indeed, it was House of Representative for District 2 candidate Ben Paradis, a native of Frenchville, son of Lucien and Marie, one of 12 siblings.

Consider Appleby when you vote

To the editor: Dana Appleby is running for Maine House District 1. Dana is a new apple to the batch but don’t let her name pass you by. She is running against a former NASCAR driver but don’t be sidetracked. Dana will drive Maine forward and keep us on course.

Working on election effort

To the editor: This November is the most important election of our lifetime as freedom and our children’s futures are on the ballot. Paul LePage and Republicans up and down the ticket in Maine are offering real solutions to historic inflation, Biden’s border crisis, and an opioid epidemic that is out of control.

Regional veterinary clinic

To the editor: An article appeared in the Sept. 7 issue of the Aroostook Republican announcing that the volunteers of Halfway Home Pet Rescue in Caribou are planning to open a regional veterinary clinic. This clinic is desperately needed in northern Maine.

Keep it up, Madawaska

To the editor: We have never been so impressed upon our return to our hometown of Madawaska to see the wonderful results of this year's Madawaska Planning Committee, such as Thursday’s NorState Music in the Park, our beautifully decorated Main Street, more pocket parks replacing dilapidated buildings, plus putting on the yearly Acadian Festival.

Looking for equal treatment

To the editor: I just finished reading the fawning article on Austin Theriault"s opponent. I searched for an equally informative piece on Roger Albert"s announcement for the Maine House of Representative and found none.

To the editor: In an attempt to once again clearly define to Mr. Paul Cyr, et al, that I do indeed associate his latest comments relative to the legalization of drugs, prostitution and euthanasia as a supposed lucid response to Walter Crean's beautifully presented message on these issues, I submit the enclosed summary.

Let’s not make hedonism legal

To the editor: Paul Cyr's recent response to a lucid, candid and logical letter by Walter Crean on the abortion issue is that he finds no sense whatsoever in Mr. Crean’s logic. Included in Mr. Cyr's letter are such statements as prostitution and drug abuse should be legalized in America to curb unnecessary suffering and deaths. Really?

Don’t miss out on relief checks

To the editor: The Legislature has completed its work for the 2020-2022 term, and, while there is much to report, there is one item I want to be sure Aroostook County residents know about.

To the editor: In answer to one of my letters “Thoughts on abortion” Paul Cyr had some comments. Paul says my arguments made no sense to him. Then he states, prostitution, assisted suicide and drugs, things I mentioned in my letter, should be legal in all 50 states.

To the editor: My deeply felt kudos to Walter Crean for his lucid, candid and logical note on the issue of pro-life vs. pro-choice. Mr. Crean does not present personal opinion, he presents factual, undisputable comment on the issue which should be fully digested by us all.

To the editor: I have some thoughts on Walter Crean’s letter to the editor titled “Thoughts on Abortion.” Your arguments make no sense to me at all. First of all prostitution, assisted suicide and drugs should be legal in all 50 states.

Thoughts on abortion

To the editor: Abortion stops the natural progression of life that starts at conception. Like it or not, that is an indisputable fact. It’s only when man questions Mother Nature that we complicate something so basic. So to those people who sanctimoniously spout, “It’s my body, I can do what I want to with it,” I can only say you are wrong.
