Caribou
Men’s 30 and over basketball
    Men’s 30-and-over basketball meets Tuesdays from 7-9 p.m. and Sundays from 10 a.m.-noon. The program is designed for gentlemen 30 years of age and older and meets at the Caribou Wellness and Recreation Center gym. There is a fee of $3 per player on Sundays only.

Men’s basketball league
    Men’s league play is under way and meets Mondays and Wednesdays from 7-9 p.m. Tonight, there will be pick-up games at 7 and 8 p.m. Monday, St. Peter Construction takes on Time Warner Cable at 7 p.m. and Job Corps meets up against Jeremiah Fitzherbert’s team at 8 p.m.
Veterans Day hours
    The Caribou Wellness and Recreation Center will be open for walking from noon-9 p.m. today. The game room is open from noon-8 p.m. and open gym is from noon-6:30 p.m.
Senior events
    Senior bingo is held Fridays from 11 a.m.-2:30 p.m. The fee is $1 and participants need to bring a prize for the winners’ table. Senior cribbage is held Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9-11:30 a.m. The fee is $1 per day.
Bridge club
    The bridge club meets Wednesdays from noon-3 p.m. The fee is $1.50 per day.
Program registration
    The Caribou Parks and Recreation Department is now accepting registrations for its fall and winter programs. Pre-registration is required for all programs, which may be done over the phone or in person. Registration is on a first-come, first-serve basis.
    Programs being offered include basketball (grades 1-6), cheerleading (grades 5-6), Learn to Skate, Ski Daddle, baseball fundamentals and Hershey Track and Field.
    If your child did not participate in the summer 2009 programs, you will need to come in and fill out a registration form for that child prior  to registering for fall programs. Most students can be transported to the program via the Caribou school bus program.

Walking hours
    Walking hours at the Caribou Wellness and Recreation Center are 6 a.m.-9 p.m. Monday through Friday and noon-4 p.m. Saturdays.
Game room
    The game room is open for youths from 3-8 p.m. Monday through Friday and noon-4 p.m. Saturdays. The game room houses pool tables, ping pong tables, a foosball table, an air hockey table and board games.
Open gym
    The Caribou Wellness and Recreation Center offers open gym from 3-9 p.m. Monday through Friday and noon-4 p.m. Saturdays.
Adult volleyball

    The recreation department will offer a pick-up volleyball league for area adults on Thursdays from 6:30-9 p.m. This program meets at the Caribou Wellness and Recreation Center gym weekly through April 29, 2010. Participants must be out of high school and there is no fee.

 
Fort Fairfield
Youth basketball
    Youth basketball for boys and girls in grades 4-6 will get underway Saturday, Nov. 14 at the Fort Fairfield Community Center with a clinic being held from 8:30-10 a.m. for all those interested in participating in the program this season.
    Following the clinic on Saturday, everyone who has registered to participate in the program will be placed on a team that will play games or practice on Saturday mornings and Wednesday evenings through the beginning of February, 2010.
    The youth basketball program will emphasize active participation, exercise, skill development, rule interpretation, game situations, and above all having fun. Any adults interested in volunteering to coach or for more information regarding the program, please contact the Fort Fairfield Parks and Recreation Department at 472-3882.
Pee wee basketball

Adult basketball
    The Fort Fairfield Community Center is open for adult basketball on Monday and Thursday evenings (except holidays) from 6-8:30pm. Play is informal, with teams being selected from all those in attendance.  The cost is $2 per player per night.
Co-ed volleyball
    Co-ed Volleyball is held every Sunday night at the Fort Fairfield Community Center from 6-8 p.m. The program is for participants that are high school age and over. Teams are selected each night from all those in attendance. There is no cost to participate.
Walking, jogging and exercise
    The Fort Fairfield Community Center is open for walking, jogging and exercise Monday through Friday (except holidays) from 6:30-11:30 a.m. Participants are asked to refrain from wearing street shoes when exercising in the community center gymnasium. There is no cost to participate.
Open gym
    The Fort Fairfield Community Center Gymnasium and game room are open for all ages on Friday and Saturday evenings from 6-8:30 p.m., Saturday afternoons from 1:30-4 p.m. and Sunday afternoons from noon-4 p.m. Open gymnasium hours will be expanded the week of Nov. 23-27 (Thanksgiving school vacation) to include noon-4 p.m. Monday through Wednesday and Friday (closed Thursday).
