Fort Kent boys move to 4-0 with win over Owls

FORT KENT, Maine — The Fort Kent boys varsity basketball team remains one of three undefeated teams in Class C North following a 68-24 win over Madawaska Thursday.

The Warriors moved to 4-0 and are in third position in the region as of Friday with the victory.

The Fort Kent offense was on fire with all but one of 13 players lighting up the scoreboard. Madawaska lost a key defender and team captain early in the first quarter when Carsen Cyr was forced to the bench with an injury.

Ethan Daigle led Fort Kent with a game-high 14 points, followed by Tobias Naranja who registered 12, including three, three-point buckets. Lance Gagnon chipped in another 11 points. Drew Deschaine also scored in double digits with 10. 

Isaac Beaulieu was on top for the Owls with seven points, while Chris Boucher added six and Sam Thibeault five.

The Owls dropped to 0-2 with the loss.

Fort Kent also defeated neighboring rival Wisdom Middle/High School 71-46 Tuesday in St. Agatha. 

Pioneer Dom Gendreau led all scorers in that game with 22 points. His teammates Logan Lagasse and Camden Pelletier each scored 10.
