New signs promote bilingual businesses
ST. JOHN VALLEY, Maine — “BIENVENUE – on parle français ici” signs are appearing in a business windows throughout the St. John Valley.
The signs are a project of Le Club Français’s Education Committee, and are distributed free to any business who wants one.
Similar signs were handed out everywhere in the Valley probably about 20 or 25 years ago.
“It is high time these were renewed, considering the return of normalcy at the border and the re-introduction of Canadian customers to this side of the St. John River,” committee chairman Don Levesque said.
To obtain a sign, contact mapetiteecoleacadie@gmail.com or Sharon Boucher, Club Français director of French programs, at 299-4551.
