Marking fire department’s 75th year

Maine Senate President Troy Jackson (D-Allagash) recently presented the Grand Isle Fire Department with a legislative sentiment honoring their 75th anniversary.

From left are Selectman Terry Helms, Selectman Otis Frierson, Selectmen Chairman Raylan Lagasse, Jackson and Grand Isle Fire Chief Gary Campbell. “For 75 years, this volunteer-led department has done amazing work responding to the needs of Grand Isle, Lille and other nearby communities with professionalism, skill and dependability,” said Jackson. The department serves Grand Isle, Lille and other communities in the St. John Valley who are members of a mutual aid network of emergency services.
