Fort Kent eye doctor honored by National Business Network

ONEONTA, New York — Dr. Tim Rioux of Valley Eye Care Associates, received recognition for his continued commitment to professional development at a recent meeting of Cleinman Performance Network.

Dr. Rioux — celebrating five years in the Network — demonstrates a dedication to creating a healthy and beneficial work environment, as well as to maintaining a high level of patient care and satisfaction. As a member of Cleinman Performance Network, a wisdom-sharing group of peer optometrists from across North America, Dr. Rioux provides valuable knowledge that highlights and contributes to the best practices in vision care and eye health.

Dr.  Rioux is board certified by the American Board of Optometry. He manages and treats a broad range of eye disorders such as Glaucoma, Dry Eye, and Macular Degeneration. He also co-manages LASIK Surgery and Cataract Surgery. Born in Fort Kent, he attended the University of Maine at Fort Kent and the University of Southern Maine. He received an associate’s degree in ophthalmic dispensing from Erie County Tech in Buffalo, New York. He completed his graduate degree at the New England College of Optometry graduating with Cum Laude honors. He was also elected to the Gold Key International Optometric Honor Society. He completed a one-year residency specializing in eye disease at Eye Health Services in South Weymouth, Massachusetts. He has served as past president of the Maine Optometric Association and the Ethics Committee of the American Optometric Association. He is also a past member of Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity where he provided free eye care to impoverished regions of Mexico and Columbia. He is past president of the local Lions Club, and he currently serves on the board of directors for the Fort Kent Knights of Columbus Corporation.
