St. John Valley weather for Sept. 28-Oct. 4

3-day outlook: Wednesday-Friday

A cold front moves through today with scattered showers that will taper off this evening as high pressure builds into the region with partly cloudy skies. Partly cloudy skies are expected Thursday with a chance for frost Thursday night under mostly clear skies with light winds, though patchy fog may keep temperatures higher in some locations. High pressure will remain across the region Friday with mostly sunny skies. Overnight, partly cloudy skies are expected to develop with temperatures in the lower 40s for much of the Valley with some upper 30s in the North Woods.

Today and tonight

Mostly cloudy with a 60 percent chance for showers. Less than 1/10th inch rainfall expected. High around 60 degrees. West wind 6-8 mph becoming northwest in the afternoon.

Tonight, partly cloudy with a low near 42 degrees. Patchy fog possible. Northwest wind around 5 mph. 

Thursday, Sept. 29

Partly sunny to partly cloudy with a high around 55 degrees. Northwest wind near 6 mph.

Thursday night, mostly clear with a low near 32 degrees. Areas of frost possible.West wind 3-4 mph.

Friday, Sept. 30

Mostly sunny with a high around 62 degrees. West wind 6-8 mph.

Friday night, mostly clear with a low near 39 degrees. West wind 0-5 mph.

4- to 7-day outlook: Saturday-Tuesday

High pressure will build in Friday and Saturday with fair weather. A cold front will move across the region Saturday night into early Sunday with a slight chance for showers after midnight. Partly cloudy skies are expected Sunday with skies clearing Sunday night with the potential for the first hard freeze of the season. Mostly clear skies are expected in Fort Kent and vicinity Monday and Monday night. A cold front will approach Tuesday with partly cloudy skies developing across the region.

Mostly sunny in the morning then partly cloudy in the afternoon with a high around 62 degrees. West wind at 0-7 mph.

Partly cloudy with a high around 51 degrees. Northwest wind 0-7 mph.
