Fort Kent Outdoor Center welcomes new manager

FORT KENT, Maine — Elysha Dyer recently joined the Fort Kent Outdoor Center as its new venue manager and ski coach.

Dyer relocated to Fort Kent from Freeport, where she spent many years coaching the Freeport High School ski team and traveling the world to enjoy skiing, hiking and trail running.

So far she has helped coordinate ski camps, summer events, wedding bookings, biathlon and Nordic summer training sessions, and trips to competitions for the center’s Jalbert Center athletes.

“The coolest place I ever skied was in Greenland,” Dyer said.

When not skiing, she enjoys hiking and running over mountains. Her skiing goal is to be a Worldloppet Master and ski the 220k race in Sweden. She has skied in southern New England and the Greenland Arctic Circle Race.

She can be reached at elyshadyer@gmail.com.
