St. John Valley weather for Aug. 10-16, 2022

3-day outlook: Wednesday-Friday

A weak ridge of high pressure will build across the region today with partly sunny skies and a slight chance for isolated showers this afternoon. Partly cloudy skies overnight will give way to partly sunny skies Thursday as a cold front approaches from the west with a chance for showers and some isolated thunderstorms in the afternoon. Precipitation will taper off Thursday evening behind the front with partly cloudy skies developing. Partly cloudy to partly sunny skies Friday will become mostly clear Friday night with temperatures dipping into the lower 50s.

Today and tonight 

Partly sunny with a 5 percent chance for showers. High around 72 degrees. South wind 0-5 mph.

Tonight, partly cloudy with a 30 percent chance for showers after midnight. Rainfall amounts less than 0.10-inch expected. Patchy fog possible overnight. Low near 57 degrees. South wind near 3 mph. 

Thursday, Aug. 11

Partly sunny with a 60 percent chance for showers and isolated afternoon thunderstorms. Rainfall amounts between 0.10 to 0.25-inch expected. High around 77 degrees. Southwest wind 6-8 mph.

Thursday night, partly cloudy with a 20 percent chance for showers. Low near 53 degrees. Northwest wind 3-4 mph. 

Friday, Aug. 12

Partly cloudy to partly sunny with a 20 percent chance for afternoon showers. High around 70 degrees. Northwest wind 6-8 mph.

Friday night, mostly clear with a 5 percent chance for showers. Low near 50 degrees. Northwest wind 0-7 mph.
4- to 7-day outlook: Saturday-Tuesday

High pressure continues to build across the Valley Saturday and Sunday with partly cloudy skies. Forecast model uncertainty increases Sunday thanks to an upper-level low that will lift towards the region from the south. With the coverage and frequency of showers associated with the system Sunday afternoon uncertain at present. A slight chance for showers continues Sunday night through Monday night with increasing chances for shower activity by Tuesday afternoon as a cold front approaches from the west.
