Ouellette presenting with Maine American Legion Auxiliary honors

We have a very special Auxiliary in our Unit 145 of Frenchville. Stella Ouellette and her family have a combined 168 years of membership to the American Legion Auxiliary Organization – this is not something that you see very often.

Stella has been an Auxiliary for 67 years, her  daughter, Glenna Guerrette has been an Auxiliary for 33 years,  her granddaughter,  Danielle Pelletier has been an Auxiliary for 33 years,  her granddaughter, Julie Dumond has been an Auxiliary for 26 years,  her great-granddaughter, Makena Pelletier has been a Junior Auxiliary for six years, and great-granddaughter, Mylee Pelletier has been a Junior Auxiliary for three years.

Stella received  a very special award  – Maine Department Auxiliary of the Year for 2021.

This award is so well deserved because Stella has volunteered her time helping veterans and their families, and her community for so many years!  She was always volunteering at the Frenchville American Legion with any fundraiser or activity that the Legionnaires or Auxiliaries would be having. She could always be found at the Frenchville Community Center helping out with activities or meals, etc. She has volunteered for years at the St. Joseph Memory Care Nursing Home. She has been knitting and crocheting mittens, bonnets, and scarves for the children at school who need them and for the Special Olympics participants for so many years. She has picked up and delivered mail for an elderly who was not able to go to the post office for years. There is no limit as to what this very kind, caring, and giving lady does.
