3-Day Outlook: Wednesday-Friday
A rather progressive pattern in the flow aloft will push an occluded front across the Valley today followed by another low pressure system tracking up the coast from the Mid-Atlantic later Thursday into Friday. Rain this morning tapers to showers this afternoon with enough instability aloft to produce some isolated thunderstorms across the area. Skies become partly cloudy overnight with some patchy fog after midnight as winds will be near calm.
Thursday will feature mostly cloudy skies with increasing chances for rain by the afternoon as the low pressure moves toward the region from the south. Rain tapers to showers overnight under cloudy skies with nearly one-half inch of rainfall anticipated Thursday night with locally heavy rainfall possible along with localized flash flooding — remember: when flooded turn around, don’t drown.
Showers are likely Friday with a slight chance for afternoon thunderstorms thanks to destabilization aloft. A chance for wrap-around showers continues Friday night as the low continues to lift to the northeast away from the region with skies becoming partly cloudy by Saturday morning.

High pressure builds in Saturday with partly cloudy skies and dry conditions. Clouds increase Saturday night into Sunday as an occluding low pressure system approaches with a chance for showers Sunday through Monday as the system crosses the state. Showers decrease in frequency Monday night into Tuesday as the low moves away to the northeast.
