Make-a-Wish to be out on a pontoon granted in Madawaska

MADAWASKA, Maine — A 12-year-old boy in Madawaska had his wish granted through the Make-A-Wish Foundation at V.I.P. Tires and Service early Wednesday morning.

Caleb was diagnosed with Leukemia in December 2020. Since his diagnosis, life has been rough, Caleb said. Thankfully his family has been by his side every step of the way.

“We take one day at a time,” Caleb’s father said. “Live for the moment.”

An avid lover of the outdoors, Caleb’s activities include spending time near the water with a fishing rod in his hands, being out hunting and exploring, and even playing with tractor trailer truck models.

Because of his love for the outdoors, Caleb wished for a boat he could take out onto the water and fish on.

Caleb woke early Wednesday with his family to meet at V.I.P. Tires and Service in Madawaska at 7:30 a.m. where he was met with a letter telling him his wish for a boat had been granted, but that’s not all. In addition to receiving a pontoon boat, Caleb and his family hopped into their car and took off from V.I.P. to spend the rest of the day at a trampoline park in Orono.

Editor’s note: The family’s last name was not published at their request.
