FORT KENT, Maine — From sugar-coated marshmallow duck candy, bicycles and board games to a chainsaw, wheelbarrow and car wash coupons, The Easter Eggstravaganza Raffle of Baskets fundraiser had something for everyone to dream about winning.
The Greater Fort Kent Area Chamber of Commerce sponsored the fundraiser at Lonesome Pine Trails on Saturday. Local businesses donated 49 baskets filled with prizes, which were raffled off at 50 cents a ticket.
Tanya Voisine and her three children Michael, Thomas and Olivia spent some time at the event Saturday morning.
Olivia, 3, had her eyes on one prize in particular, a Paw Patrol water bottle in a Katahdin Trust Company basket.
“They had a blast at the Festival of Trees so I figured they’d love to come to the Easter Eggstravaganza,” Tanya Voisine said. “I also feel it’s important to support the different things the Chamber is doing.”
The Easter Bunny also showed up at the Eggstravaganza, and posed for photos with area youngsters.
“We had a steady flow of attendees throughout the day,” Chamber President Dawn Daigle said. “We had a total of 49 baskets donated and 49 happy winners.”
The Chamber plans a return of the Eggstravaganza next April, Daigle said, but next up will hold its annual Ploye Festival, June 24-26.
