Fort Kent theater to present documentary of musher’s journey during Can-Am weekend

FORT KENT, Maine — The Century Theatre will host a few special showings of the documentary film “True North Legends Of Dogs And Men” by Jeremy T. Grant during the Can-Am Crown International Sled Dog Races this weekend in Fort Kent, Maine.

The theater will  accept donations to the Can-Am Crown during the showings, which are scheduled for 7 p.m. on Friday, March 4, and 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. on Saturday, March 6.

This documentary covers the journey of Jonathan Hayes, a solo sled dog musher in Maine. He is determined to complete a 261 mile trek to honor the life saving sled dog run by Togo, in Nome, Alaska. His journey takes him through some of the most remote locations in the North woods. It is a journey of man and dog vs. the wilderness. All are welcome to take advantage of the special showings of this documentary at the theater, which is within walking distance of Main Street.
