Credit union names new COO

MADAWASKA, Maine — Susan G. Whitehead, president and CEO of NorState Federal Credit Union, has announced the appointment of Jeffrey Davenport as NorState’s new executive vice president and chief operating officer. 

Having spent most of his 35-year career in the financial services industry as a credit union executive, Davenport most recently has served as the financial consultant for CUNA Mutual Group, working with credit unions of all sizes throughout the eastern half of the U.S. 

“We are excited to have Jeff  join the NorState FCU team. His knowledge of the credit union industry as well as his vast experience in so many facets of credit union  operations will support NorState’s mission and future growth,” Susan G. Whitehead,  president and CEO, said.

Along with facilitating credit union strategic planning sessions, Davenport has also shared his extensive experience and knowledge by speaking at credit union events at the national level. Davenport has served on various committees over the years, including Maine Credit Union League committees, and was the past chairman of  the New England CUES Council. 

“I’ve been fortunate to have been involved with NorState directly and indirectly for the past 22 years. I am happy and excited to be continuing that relationship in my new capacity as the credit union grows(Courtesy of NorState Federal Credit Union) and moves forward,” Davenport said. 

Davenport and his wife, Sherrie, live in Fort Fairfield, where they were both born and raised. 

Davenport will begin his new duties at NorState on Nov. 15.
