Wisdom boys headed to quarterfinals with 8-1 win over Katahdin

ST. AGATHA, Maine — The No. 4 Wisdom boys soccer team took down No. 13 Katahdin 8-1 Friday, Oct. 22, during a Class D North prelim playoff game Friday in St. Agatha. 

Wisdom (13-2 overall) advanced to the quarterfinals with the win and faced No. 5 Madawaska (11-3-1) Tuesday in St. Agatha.  The Pioneers beat Madawaska 2-1 to advance to the semifinals Friday. 

Katahdin ends its season with a 6-6-3 overall record.

In Friday’s game, Carter Pelletier led the Pioneers with five goals and two assists. Sam Roy registered two goals with one assist. Camden Pelletier also chipped in a goal and an assist.

“The boys came ready to play in our first true playoff game together as a group,” Wisdom Coach Dom Rossignol said. It’s the first step towards our ultimate goal.” 

Katahdin’s Kyle McNally scored his team’s only goal.
