Valley River Middle School runner competes in cross country race

HOULTON, Maine — The Greater Houlton Christian Academy cross country squads dominated the field Wednesday, Sept. 22 in a regular season meet held in Houlton. 

GHCA’s Andrea Ross was the top female runner, completing the course in 15 minutes, 4 seconds. GHCA’s Jack Philbrook was the overall male winner, with a time of 13:37.

A total of 31 girls and 17 boys participated in the race this year.

The girls team scores were: GHCA 22 and Presque Isle Middle School 44. For the boys, GHCA placed first with 17 points, while Presque Isle was second at 38.

Individual runners from Valley Rivers Middle School, Woodland Consolidated School and Easton Middle School also participated in the meet.
