The Big Top comes to Madawaska

MADAWASKA, Maine — With a massive striped big-top tent, the Zerbini Family Circus rolled into Madawaska on Friday afternoon for a weekend of performances.

The circus will put on five shows during their stay at the Madawaska Recreation Department grounds: Evening shows on Friday, Saturday and Sunday and matinees on both weekend days.

Acts include foot jugglers, aerialists, and a Camaro that transforms into a robot. Julian Zerbini, an animal trainer for the show, said attendees can expect performances from ponies and a donkey as well.

Tickets are free for children under 13, and $15 for everyone else.

The small family show is based in Florida, but has spent the past three weeks in Maine with their nine performers. They head to Pennsylvania next.

Recreation Department Director Diane Boucher said she was excited to see a circus return to Madawaska after several years.

“It’s something different for the kids,” she said. “It’s good for all ages — even the adults are going to enjoy it.”

Show Times:

Friday: 6 p.m.

Saturday: 4 and 6 p.m

Sunday: 3 and 5 pm
