Eagle Lake hires summer recreation director, OKs plans for rec programs to return

EAGLE LAKE, Maine — Eagle Lake Board of Selectmen at a Friday, July 2, meeting hired a new summer recreation director and approved plans for the rec program to offer a variety of outdoor activities for children.

“I’m excited; it looks like we’re going to have another good program this year,” Town Manager John Sutherland said at the meeting.

The town initially had difficulty filling the summer rec director position due to lack of applicants, but ultimately hired Doris McNulty.

Along with arts and crafts and sports, possible activities the selectmen discussed include: a boat ride on Eagle Lake, picnic at Hedgehog Mountain, tour of Northwoods Nectar, a movie at Century Theater in Fort Kent and an educational walk in the woods,

The program will run from July 12 to Aug. 6 and will meet from 1 until 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Sign-up for the summer rec program will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 7, at the Eagle Lake Recreational Building at 24 Devoe Brook Road.
