Both drivers transported to hospital following two-vehicle crash

FORT KENT, Maine — The drivers of both vehicles were transported to Northern Maine Medical Center following a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Highland Avenue and Charette Hill Road on Wednesday afternoon. 

Fort Kent Police Chief Tom Pelletier responded to the call at around 3:15 p.m.

Karen Berube, 73, of Fort Kent was traveling southbound on Highland AvThe drivers of both vehicles were transported to Northern Maine Medical Center following a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Highland Avenue and Charette Hill Road on Wednesday afternoon. enue in a 2009 Subaru Legacy when she went through a stop sign at the intersection. 

Berube’s vehicle sideswiped the passenger side of a 2019 GMC pickup, which had been headed westbound on Charette Hill Road, police said.

Fort Kent resident Clifford Pelletier, 75, was operating the pickup at the time of the crash.

Ambulance Service Inc. transported Berube and Pelletier to Northern Maine Medical Center, where both drivers were treated for injuries and released. 

Both vehicles received extensive damage and were towed.
