Of mountains and rabbit holes
To the editor:
The word, I believe, is “projection,” the psychological term to describe those who project onto others what they themselves practice and believe.
Seriously, Mr. Crean, you don’t expect rational and intelligent people to believe that Democrats are racist. That is like saying Republicans love Barack Obama.
The Merriam-Webster dictionary defines racism as: “1. A belief that race is a fundamental determinant of human traits and capacities and that racial differences produce an inherent superiority of a particular race. 2. Behavior or attitudes that reflect and foster this belief: racial discrimination or prejudice.” To say that democrats are racist is delusional. Democrats are inclusive, always were and always will be.
You can’t hide a mountain when it is in plain sight. The Republican Party is a cult of personality (ask any QAnon member), and their leader is one white racist called Donald J. Trump (ask any Republican). The Republican Party is white and racist. To say otherwise is to deny that mountain right in front of you and say Republicans attend Obama love fests. [We] French have a term for those who spew such puerile hyperbole: “e parle trevair son chapeau.”
I will not respond to baseless projections (all distilled Fox nonsense) as astute readers of this fine newspaper will quickly be able to discern rabbit hole assertions.
President Joe Biden is a fine leader, one we have been lacking for four long years. All is good, America, for now.
America is under attack by far right authoritarian nationalist racist and conspiracy beliefs and true Americans, who believe in democracy, will eventually defeat it, because justice in the long run always wins out.
