Police seek BB gun toting Main Street vandal

FORT KENT, Maine — Fort Kent Police are seeking information about a vandal who allegedly shot a BB gun at various residences and businesses along Main Street over the course of about 24 hours.

The vandal is first known to have struck on Sunday, May 16. At 10:30 p.m. Sunday, police received a call from a Main Street resident who reported damage to the apartment building where he lives. The resident said he thought someone had fired a BB gun at the building.

In the early morning hours of May 17, police responded to a complaint at the Circle K convenience store, where someone had fired a BB gun at the gasoline pumps.

Later on that same morning, police began receiving reports from residents on West Main Street about broken windows. Someone fired at a building window, damaging it, and also at a parked vehicle, shattering the rear window of the vehicle.

That afternoon the vandal returned to the east end of Main Street where three more businesses received damage to their storefronts, including broken windows from a suspected BB gun.

Anyone with information about these acts of vandalism should contact the Fort Kent Police Department at 207-834-5678.
