McLean joins Northern Maine Vet Center

The Northern Maine Vet Center is pleased to announce the addition of Sarah McLean, LCSW to the team as a readjustment counselor. McLean comes to the Vet Center with over 10 years of experience providing counseling to diverse populations – adults, families (including in-home family therapy), couples, Native Americans, individuals in crisis, survivors of domestic violence and more.

McLean comes to the Vet Center from private practice, including work at the Micmac Family Clinic as a contracted provider, and prior to that she worked at AMHC for several years. Over the years, McLean has come to specialize in helping people heal from trauma, which makes her a great fit to help veterans.

McLean will provide counseling at the Vet Center and will be doing outreach in the St. John Valley (as she is able to during the pandemic) and will eventually travel to the Valley to see veterans.

McLean is active in the community by contributing her time as she can, most recently with Recovery Aroostook and Aroostook Proud. A Maine native, McLean loves the outdoors and spends a lot of time hiking and snowshoeing.

Like all Vet Centers, The Northern Maine Vet Center provides a host of counseling services:  individual, group, and family counseling; sexual trauma counseling; substance use counseling; VA information and assistance; and outreach and education about veterans’ issues and services to eligible veterans. The Northern Maine Vet Center services are easy to access. For more information or to determine eligibility, please call the Center at 207-496-3900.
