St. Agatha store puts in 24-hour gas pumps to help attract tourism
ST. AGATHA, Maine — Roy’s Variety in St. Agatha has been able to add 24-hour gas pumps to its line of services due to grant money the store received.
The new service is meant to support recreational motorsports in the area, and help bolster the St. John Valley as a tourist destination.
The pump station, which has four gas nozzles, was purchased with a $50,000 Community Development Block Grant for which St. Agatha Town Manager Aubrey Michaud applied.
“With the level of tourism we have up here and recreational activities that go on such as snowmobiling, if people come in after hours and they need gas they’ve got a place to stop,” Michaud said.
Roy’s Variety is located at 276 Main St. in St. Agatha.
