Slippery road causes Thursday morning crash
FORT KENT, Maine — A Fort Kent teenager escaped injury on Thursday morning when the pickup he was driving crashed into a tree.
Fort Kent Police Chief Tom Pelletier and Officer Jack Maloney responded to the scene of the crash on upper Charette Hill Road at 10:30 a.m.
Dawson Dumond, 18, was traveling east on the road in a 2008 Chevrolet pickup when he lost control of the vehicle.
The truck left the roadway and struck the tree head-on.
The cause of the crash was slippery road conditions, Chief Pelletier said.
The vehicle received extensive damage to its front end.
Dumond was wearing a seat belt.
