Maine deserves a leader, not a bystander

Coronavirus has undoubtedly posed a new and unprecedented set of circumstances for Mainers. Fortunately the Paycheck Protection Program — authored by our very own Sen. Susan Collins — helped small businesses and countless Maine workers get through the worst of the economic shutdown last spring.

Frankly, I am confused why Sara Gideon is challenging Sen. Collins. What has Gideon done to help Maine through the pandemic? What has she done to help you? The answer is that Gideon did absolutely nothing.

When Maine needed strong leadership the most, Sen. Collins went to work; Sara Gideon went on vacation. When I think about the challenges ahead that we face as a state, I think about who I want representing me in the Senate, and who will protect Mainers. That woman is Sen. Susan Collins, and I am proud to say I’ll be voting for her again.
