Absentee ballot count rises

MADAWASKA, Maine — The Madawaska Town Office has seen a spike in absentee ballots this year compared to last year.

As of Tuesday morning, the Madawaska Town Office received 347 ballots, with expectations of that number to rise over the next three weeks. While data on the previous election’s absentee ballots was not available, the town office reported that there are more absentee ballots this year than last year.

All absentee ballots must be received by the town clerk by 8 p.m. Nov. 3, the same day as the election. In person voting will be done at the multipurpose building in Madawaska.
