Halloween celebrations will entertain kids in St. Francis, Allagash

ST. FRANCIS, Maine — The Halloween tradition of trick-or-treating may be off limits for children this year due to COVID-19, but modified celebrations will take place in the St. John Valley towns of St. Francis and Allagash.

Friends of St. Francis will host its fifth annual Halloween party at the St. Francis Community Center in the form of a walk-through-only Trunk or Treat.  The event will provide free candy to children and all who attend are required to wear face masks.

The Jake Break Snack Bar in Allagash will also host a Halloween celebration. The party will include pumpkin painting, games of cornhole and an ice-cream-eating contest.

Children from all towns are welcome to participate in both events, which will be held on Saturday, Oct. 31, Halloween day.

The St. Francis Trunk or Treat event will take place from 4:30 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. and the Jake Break Halloween party will begin at 10 a.m. and finish at 8 p.m.
