Country Village Estates hosts outdoor concert for residents

MADAWASKA, Maine — The residents at Country Village Estates got a special treat Friday when the Sunshine Boys music group showed up to give them an outdoor concert.

Activities coordinator Torry Millette said that the residents hadn’t had any music performers come in months due to COVID-19.

“It may have been a chilly day, but with lots of blankets, hot chocolate and after a long few months with no music from our missed performers, Country Village Estates had the privilege to throw an outdoor concert,” Millette said.

The Sunshine Boys played country songs from the 1960s as residents sat socially distanced, jamming to the music and moving their feet.

“Even with the chilly weather, my legs were moving from the music, keeping me warm,” said resident Anita Nadeau. “I could stay out there forever.”

Millette said the residents’ faces were lit up the whole time.

“This filled the residents with so much joy,” Millette said.
