Short-Term Outlook: Wednesday – Friday
Low pressure located over Labrador/eastern Québec will intensify today, creating a strong pressure gradient with incoming Canadian high pressure to the west. Gusty northwest winds as high as 45 mph are expected today with a wind advisory in effect into the evening hours.
Today’s highs will be notably cooler with Fort Kent and vicinity just reaching 60 degrees. Overnight, winds ease; however, they will remain elevated enough to prevent much cooling overnight despite mostly clear skies across the region. Wind chill values overnight may fall into the middle 30s. Mostly sunny skies continue Thursday with breezy conditions, but less gusty than today. Mostly clear skies Thursday night with light winds will allow Fort Kent to fall into the 40s with some North Woods locations dropping into the mid-to-upper 30s by Friday morning. Sunny skies and cool conditions continue Friday and Friday night with autumn-like conditions.

Mostly sunny with a high around 66 degrees F with west/northwest winds 10 to 15 mph gusting 20 to 25 mph.
Thursday night, mostly clear with a slight chance for showers. Lows ranging from the upper 30s in the North Woods to around 43 degrees F in Fort Kent with west/northwest winds 0 to 5 mph.

Sunny skies Saturday morning give way to increasing clouds in the afternoon with rain likely Saturday night through Sunday afternoon as low pressure track from the Great Lakes across south-central Maine. A ridge of high pressure builds in from the Great Lakes Monday on breezy northwest winds under partly sunny skies. Mostly clear skies Monday night as high pressure moves across the region give way to partly cloudy skies Tuesday afternoon as a low pressure system approaches from the Great Lakes with increasing cloudiness Tuesday night.
