Madawaska hires new finance director

MADAWASKA, Maine — Madawaska welcomed Caryl Albert as the town’s new finance director earlier this month.

Albert graduated from Northern Maine Community College with an associates degree in business administration.

Prior to accepting the position at the town office, Albert worked with the Madawaska School Department where she had spent 20 years serving as the bookkeeper and payroll specialist.

With those 20 years of experience at the school department and another 13 years of experience elsewhere, Town Manager Gary Picard said she brings 33 years of experience to the town.

At the Board of Selectmen’s meeting held Tuesday, Albert was given the reins to take over the office of the finance director, which included taking on the role as tax collector and signatory to the town’s bank accounts.

“Caryl is well known throughout the community, and we are very happy and fortunate to have her be part of our team,” Picard said.
