Families go on parade to visit Borderview residents

VAN BUREN, Maine — Borderview Rehab Center in Van Buren held a “social distancing parade” for families on their grounds on Saturday, June 13.  

According to staff at the facility, the residents have been under Maine CDC guidelines for coronavirus precautions, and this was their first chance to see their family members in person since mid-March.

Organizers said they wanted to thank all the families who took the time to participate, as well as the local fire and ambulance service and health center facilities for their assistance.

More than 30 vehicles were involved in the cheerful caravan, which made a special day for the residents.
