Police arrest Fort Kent man on felony firearms charge
FORT KENT, Maine — Police arrested a Fort Kent man on a felony firearms charge on Tuesday.
Fort Kent police arrested Adam Bouchard, 25, shortly after 11 a.m. and charged him with being a prohibited person in possession of a firearm, which is a Class C felony.
The charge is in connection with an incident that allegedly took place on Tuesday, May 19. Fort Kent Police Chief Tom Pelletier declined to provide additional information regarding the May 19 incident, citing it as an active investigation in which there could be more charges coming.
Bouchard is prohibited from being in possession of a firearm due to two prior domestic violence convictions, Pelletier said.
Police took Bouchard to the Aroostook County Jail in Caribou where he is being held pending a possible grand jury indictment.
