St. John man arrested on multiple charges

FORT KENT, Maine — Fort Kent police arrested a St. John man on Thursday for multiple charges stemming from incidents that allegedly took place two weeks prior.

Police had been seeking Dylan Pelletier, 27, since they received a report that Pelletier had allegedly assaulted an adult female at a Fort Kent residence on April 2, and April 3.

On Thursday, Officer Trevor Bellefleur recognized Pelletier as he was driving along Main Street, and knowing that Pelletier was operating a vehicle after license suspension, conducted a traffic stop of Pelletier’s vehicle.

Bellefleur arrested Pelletier and took him to the Fort Kent Police Department where Sgt. Dalen Boucher, the department’s officer who investigates domestic violence crimes, charged Pelletier with two counts of domestic violence assault, two counts of criminal restraint, two counts of obstructing reporting of a crime and one count of domestic violence terrorizing with a knife.

Pelletier was released after posting $500 bail and will appear Thursday, June 4, at Fort Kent District Court.
