Pelletier earns Principal’s Award

ST. AGATHA, Maine — Alyssa Pelletier of St. Agatha, a senior at Wisdom Middle/High School, has been selected to receive the 2020 MPA Principal’s Award, Principal Ralph Fantasia announced.

The award, sponsored by the Maine Principals’ Association, is given in recognition of a high school senior’s academic achievement and citizenship.

During her four years at Wisdom, Pelletier has taken part in many extracurricular activities, including the National Honor Society (serving as president since 2018), Student Council, Athletic Club, and the school’s College Access Team.  Additionally, she has been her class president each of her four years in high school, and has served as a student member on the SAD 33 Board of Directors for the past three years.

“Alyssa has consistently achieved high honors, is one of the top-ranked students in her class, and has been an example of positive school citizenship and leadership during her time at Wisdom,” Fantasia said.

After graduation, Pelletier will be attending the University of New England in the fall to study nursing.

The MPA recognizes award winners with an MPA pin, an individual plaque and the awarding of seven $1,000 scholarships in the names of former Maine principals and MPA executive directors: Horace O. McGowan, Richard W. Tyler, and Richard A. Durost. Three additional $1,000 scholarships will be presented through the partnership with Berlin City Auto Group’s Drive for Education.

The Principal’s Award is presented in more than 100 Maine public and private high schools by member principals of the MPA, the professional association that represents Maine’s school administrators.
