Edmundston offers activities for families at home

EDMUNDSTON, New Brunswick — A variety of community stakeholders have stepped up to the plate in these times of confinement to offer ideas for activities to do at home for the whole family.

This collaboration between the City of Edmundston’s Recreation and Sports Department and Événements Edmundston Events makes it possible to offer citizens of all ages fun and entertaining activities during this extraordinary period.

Through the municipal Facebook pages (Sports Pavilion and City of Edmundston) and the Événements Edmundston Events page, virtual Zumba classes, yoga, community exercises, crafts and creative projects for the whole family will appear.

There will also be many surprises along the way, including the participation of the Pattison Sign Group-Edmundston Toyota Good Humour Truck, which, thanks to volunteers, crisscrosses the streets of Edmundston to brighten the days of people who now have to spend a lot of time at home.

“We want to give people ideas during this period when they have to stay home. It’s super important right away, but we also want them to have fun and get moving,” says Martine Marchand, events coordinator at Événements Edmundston Events.

People who participate are invited to share their activities and projects by posting photos on their Facebook profile and mentioning #GOITWILLBEOK in the description. This will help inspire others to participate and “change their minds,” said city officials.
