Ribbon cutting celebrates Esthetic Elegance By Emily

FORT KENT, Maine — Emily Marin of New Canada officially kicked off her new business, Esthetic Elegance By Emily, with a Greater Fort Kent Area Chamber of Commerce ribbon-cutting celebration at The Total Look with Nails by Beth in Fort Kent on Monday, March 2.

Marin, 20, is a 2018 Fort Kent Community High School graduate. She studied business management for a year at the University of Maine at Fort Kent and then headed to Westbrook for six months to Spa Tech Institute to complete an esthetician program. Marin also completed an additional class in dermaplaning at Spa Tech.

Marin said she has wanted to become an esthetician since she was 15 years old.

“My mother became a licensed cosmetologist at 19 and started her own business as a cosmetologist when she was 24, so for as long as I can remember I have been around the beauty industry,” Marin said.

“I have always wanted to own my own business as an esthetician. I wanted to open a business that would be a place where people can go to get help with their skin issues and concerns, a place to be pampered, a place to go to relax, but mostly a place where everyone can feel beautiful in their skin.”

Marin’s mother is Total Look owner Beth Bernardini, which is where Esthetic Elegance By Emily is located.

Marin offers exfoliation treatments such as dermaplaning and microdermabrasion, which she said helps reduce hyperpigmentation, sun spots, fine lines and wrinkles, acne scarring and more.

“I also provide European style facials suitable for all skin types, anti-aging facials, acne facials, back facials, eyelash and eyebrow tinting, hand and arm treatments, foot and leg treatments, décolleté treatments and full body waxing,” Marin said.

Add on facial treatments such as chemical peels, vitamin C peels, chocolate enzymes, raspberry enzymes, collagen masks, paraffin masks, hydro jelly masks and high frequency treatments are also available.

“I love working with new people, making my clients feel great and seeing amazing results,” Marin said.

In her free time, Marin enjoys spending time with family and friends and singing.

Marin won the United Way of Aroostook Northern Star singing competition in 2015.
