BANGOR, Maine — Nine Aroostook County basketball players are among the 98 student-athletes invited to participate in the 40th annual Maine McDonald’s All-Star High School Senior Basketball Games in partnership with the Maine Association of Basketball Coaches.

This statewide event, set for Saturday, March 7 at Husson University’s Newman Gymnasium, recognizes and celebrates 128 Maine high school seniors, their schools, coaches and athletic programs that teach these students the value of teamwork, discipline, and academics.

Representing the North in the girls Class C/D game are Breann Bradbury, Central Aroostook and Makaelyn Porter, Southern Aroostook.

Representing the North in the boys AA/A/B game are Alex Bouchard and Parker Deprey of Caribou and Keegan Gentle of Houlton.

Representing the North in the boys C/D games will be Brayden Bradbury, Central Aroostook; Jace Rocheleau and Eden Paradis, both of Fort Kent; Josh Foster, Hodgdon; and Luc Perreault, Van Buren.

Faith Sjoberg of Presque Isle and Dawson Watson of Fort Fairfield were also chosen to compete in the free throw shooting event.

Fort Fairfield girls coach Larry Gardiner, Southern Aroostook girls coach Cliff Urquhart, Caribou boys coach Kyle Corrigan and Central Aroostook boys coach Jason Woodworth were also selected as Coaches of the Year for their respective divisions.

The event begins at 8:30 a.m. with the free throw competition. The boys AA/A/B game tips off at 10:45 a.m., while the boys C/D game is at 1 p.m. and the girls C/D game follows at 2:30 p.m.

All stars are selected based upon ballot returns in a statewide high school basketball coaches’ vote conducted by the Maine Association of Basketball Coaches in January.

All-star game tickets may be purchased at Husson University on March 7 and are good for all four games — Girls Classes AA, A and B, Girls Classes C and D, Boys Classes AA, A and B and Boys Classes C and D. Tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for students. Children 5 and younger are admitted for free.
